The Hurt

What brings peace in the midst of heartbreaking death?

How can you find happiness in every cherished breath?

Where does joy reside when the ones you love are far away?

Why do answers seem distant when you’re on your knees to pray?

I have some answers, but I’m not sure they’re the best.

I’m surrounded with dancers, yet pain still invades my suffocated chest.

I’ve witnessed new life. I’ve watched beauty produce miracles.

I’ve endured through strife. I’ve seen flat hearts become sphericals.

These things bring peace in every improbable circumstance.

I’ve discovered happiness as I’ve finally learned to dance.

Joy has been uncovered as I chose to approach the throne.

Hope reveals the answers solidified in foundational stone.

Home is a constant when whom you love is secure.

There is newfound strength when there is help to endure.

The hurt is still present but freedom is your eternity.

Love removes the veil, showing you what you yearned to see.
